Viva

"A little less conversation..."

Hey hey.

Can you believe summer is almost over?  Aka, it's over and I'm just realizing it.  School starts up this Thursday for us.  Looks like it's going to be a....(insert adjective here) semester.  I'm not sure.  I'm doing an internship at church (doing the website) and also taking Biblical Greek, which I have to not only pass, but excel in, so I can take advanced Greek next semester.  It's either that or advanced Hebrew, and I don't think my grace D- would cut it.  We'll see, I'm also taking the Gospel of Luke and a special youth ministry independent study.  Which believe it or not, I'm doing both for fun!

I'm on my fourth year of a three year degree, so I'm pretty much done.  We'll see if I kill myself midsemester by being lazy.

What did you do this weekend? Me, nothing much, drove around, walked around, went to Las Vegas.  The usual.  :)  I got to see Blake, my friend Kara, took my wife and friend Krista along too.  It was cool, I'd never been.  Probably won't go again, honestly I kinda got a little bored towards the end.  The group stayed for 2ish days and me and Val stayed another 2, for alone time, since we were celebrating her birthday.  The biggest thing we did was eat at the uberexpensive Eiffel Tower Restaraunt, on top of the mock Eiffel Tower in the Paris hotel.  I'd seen the real thing, and figured Val would enjoy it.  We both did, except for the bill.  Ouch.  Let's just say I spent more on mashed potatos (a small side dish), than I did my meal the night before. I had steak, and potatos, and a duck appetizer, and dessert.  Oh well, who needs rent? I'll post some pics of everything soon.

Random stuff: Val wants a cat, we got a Beta instead, we're going to Hawaii in October, I like that snakes on a plane song, Talledega Nights was awesome, I finished reading Blue Like Jazz (it wasn't about Jazz) they're making a new Fantastic Four movie called "Fantastic Four and the Silver Surfer."  and...that's all I got for now!

That's Super

"The melting pot of a super-future X-style..."

I've been pretty busy these late couple of weekends.  Two weekends ago I went with my wife down to LA to see my buddy Blake.  We got to do the cool tourist stuff, saw the walk of fame, the Chinese theatre, the Hollywood sign, the Santa Monica beach.

The coolest thing that happened was that we went to the CityWalk at Universal Studios, which is basically lots of restaurants, shops, fun stuff, etc.  Anyway.  While we were there we came across this open area which had a sign that said: "Current Filming for the Show 'Who Wants to be a Superhero?"  So yeah, I got to see the finale episode that that tv show, AND will most likely BE IN the finale episode. :)  The tv show is set to start this summer on the SciFi channel.  It's a reality show where people compete as 'superheroes' where they complete various tasks.  The winner gets their own comic book, action figures, and possible movie on ScrFi Channel.  Check it out here: http://www.scifi.com/superhero/

So yeah, the coolest part was that STAN LEE made a guest appearance.  So I got to see the creator of the X-Men (and Marvel Comics) in person.  Blake and I were very nerdily excited.  So my celebrity list is as so:

George Lucas
JK Simmons
lots of famous people in bands including
Switchfoot
MxPx
the singer of Metallica
Stan 'the Man' Lee

:)
The End

"Kicking and screaming like a child.  I'm out of control and running wild." was MxPx's "Kicking and Screaming." Patty got it right!

25/M/CA/Married

"Kicking and screaming like a child.  I'm out of control and running wild."

Soo....

How are you?  I'm good thanks.  Things have been going pretty good.  Remember when posting was cool?  I do too.  I think I've just gotten a little more busy.  And married.  Plus we got digital cable with like 500 channels, and school.  So yeah, that's been me lately.

I just celebrated my 25th bithday last Friday, it was pretty cool, I went down south to Pismo Beach area, with my new wife and celebrated my bday.  No presents from anyone other than my wife yet, so feel free to send them along :)

Me and Val will be celebrating 2 months of marriage on the 28th.  It's weird that it went by so fast, but it really seems like we've been together for awhile.  It's nice to see how God has used our patience to get married and guided in a smooth transition.  It was very natural.

I've still got a year left of seminary, but really only about 6 classes, which is awesome, but kind of scary, because I will be 25, married, with a Masters Degree, and still no real ambition in life.  I hate being an adult.  Well except for the sex part.  That's pretty awesome.  So is the digital cable.  And the 3 gaming systems.  And the car.  The wife is nice to have around to   Ok, so I like being an adult, just hate responsibility.  Like Will Ferrell said in Kicking and Screaming,

"Well, if it isn't Porkface Jones. I can eat a box of cookies tonight. Can you do that? No. Because you're nothin' but a fart-faced kid."

Ah, the fun of being an adult.  And yes, as a friend of mine said.  There is gaming after marriage.

"Watch the time go right out the window..." was Linkin Park's "In the End."  Sara is correct!
